In-Power

In-Power is a student-led peer support group that brings community, grounding, and healing to create a safe space for survivors of sexual violence. Through weekly meetings Co-Facilitators orchestrate group discussions that encourage our members to share their stories, heal open wounds, and provide extra resources, to be heard, valued, and respected. Our Co-Facilitators create a safe and supportive environment for all students despite gender and race. Our overarching mission is to advocate for survivors and foster a culture of education and empowerment within the student body, striving to effect positive change and elevate the voices of those who have experienced trauma.

Hi, my name is Morgan Keating! As a current senior at the University of Connecticut, I am pursuing a double major in Psychological Sciences and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences. I work for the UCONN Women's Center as a Violence Against Women Prevention Program (VAWPP) Peer Facilitator and an In Power Facilitator. I have been apart of VAWPP since my first year of UConn and I am proud to participate in our mission to create a world free of gender-based violence. I’m excited to bring my experience in this work into my career as a social worker.
